אם זה טבלט עם אפליקציית הגנה כלשהיא זה לא יעבודInstalling the server application on your computer
In order to use your computer's Internet connection on your Android device, you have to install the Reverse Tethering server application (and possibly device drivers) on your computer now. Here are the steps you need to take:
-
Install Java JRE 1.7 or newer on your computer if you haven't already 2. Enable USB Debugging in the Developer System Settings.
-
Connect your device to your computer via a USB cable.
-
If you are using Windows, you have to install USB drivers for your Android device now. These drivers are typically provided by the device manufacturer as a download. For some devices, Windows can automatically find, download and install the drivers when you connect your Android device for the first time. Please note there is a difference between MTP drivers (for file exchange) and ADB drivers (which RevTet needs). Many computers automatically install the MTP drivers, but not the ADB drivers. In order to find the appropriate ADB drivers for your device,
please do an Internet research. This page
is usually a good starting point.
- On Linux, you have to set up your system to recognize the Android device. Instructions can be found here (Start with
the 3rd point). 6. Download the Reverse Tethering server application from http://bit.ly/RevTetServer. 7. Unzip the downloaded file.
Connecting to the server application
Connecting can be as simple as starting the server application on your computer, then connecting the device to your computer via a USB cable, if you have enabled the auto connect option in the app's settings. If you don't want to enable that setting, or it does not work, you can
also connect manually:
- Press connect on the status screen of the
app on your device 2. Connect the device to your computer via a
USB cable
- Start the Reverse Tethering server
application on your computer
What if apps don't recognize the connection?
If Reverse Tethering reports to be connected, but web browsers such as Chrome do not recognize the connection, try if disconnecting the USB cable, changing the Mode setting in this app's settings, then connecting again, helps. It that does not help, please send me an email and I'll list the device as incompatible.
If your web browser correctly detects the connection, but other apps don't, that's because these apps only check for Wifi or 3G connections. The only way to make these apps work with the reverse tethered connection is by using a workaround that requires you to have two Android devices:
- Connect device A to the computer and start ReverseTethering as you used to 2. Disable the data connection (3G/LTE) on
device B
-
Start wifi tethering on device B 4. Connect device A to the wifi created by device B (while keeping the USB cable connected)
-
Device A will now believe it gets the Internet from the wifi connection, while it actually uses the reverse tethered connection
Important: This workaround only works for some apps on some devices. Unfortunately, there is no solution that works everywhere. This is the fault of those third-party apps and there is nothing I could do about it. Thus, there is no point in giving my app a bad rating for that. Thanks for your appreciation
